Have you planned how shall you count E. coli cells and Kefir cells and distinguish between them? If you use turbidity as a measure of concentration of bacteria, it may not distinguish between those two, moreover you may get noise due to ...

I think you can use a hemocytometer to count the total bacteria present in the water. But it is difficult to count the motile bacteria in hemocytometer. I suggest to use a disinfectant to kill the bacteria before counting.I think you can also ...
