MALDI; fusion protein cleaving from a peptide... visualise it on gel, but I geally worry about MALDI result because it shows nothing at 3,2 kDa.. Honestly it barely shows something... I guess any contaminant may interrupt. Probes contain 1 M urea, 20-50 mM Tris, 1- 2 mM CaCl2, 0,1% Tween20, 100 mM NaCl and some imidasole.. Can any of this reagents ...

SDS PAGE staining box... lid. Nice polypropylene. Cheap and good size for mini gels. I have a glass container that has been scrubbed acid washed and kept free of as much contaminant as I can for when I need to prepare my gels for silver staining and protein sequencing.

Inoculating bacteriathat if you pick one typical colony you are likely to pick a good one, but if you scrape a plate where some contaminant might be lurking, you might miss it in the crowd.
