To isolate out the transconjugants, I transfer the bacteria colonies from LB plates to Simmon Citrate Agar plates which will select out the C.necator conjugants since E. coli ...

Re: conjugation... or acceptor than others). Of course you better have a non plasmid dependant way to select strain B from A if you want to be able to select for the conjugants. HTH Patrick
