how are genes the unit of replication?

Thanks, Jack. So, yes, if it's one gene=one trait, then there is no confusion, but when multiple genes need to be replicated together to pass on a trait, I still don't get how they do that. Anyone?

... started because the pyruvate kinase is inhibited by glucagon and adrenaline, so PEP can't turn into pyruvate anymore. Which is only adding to my confusion...

can some one tell what rubp stands for ?

But my I was told that bi and di mean the same. Could u please elaborate on this part.I really want this confusion to end once and for all.

... I need to find the most appropriate and would rather use a word that is precise but somehow losing its meaning, than one that right away causes confusion because of not being specific enough and suggests that two or 4+ letter codons cannot exist anywhere in the universe. It's like my instincts ...
