Commissural cheilitis



A condition characterized by inflammation and fissuring at the labial commissure (the corner of the mouth).


There could be lesions that may bleed when the mouth is widely opened. The cause may be a fungal infection (e.g. Candida albicans or vitamin B deficiency.
