... by deficient or deffective vWF protein... this means platelets are less able to bind to damaged epithelia and so it is harder for the blood to clot... it is a inherited genetic condition... it is not uncommon... Thank you for the info.

If I remember correctly (and I may not, so it would be wise to confirm this) clinical samples are left to clot at room temperature for something like 20-30 minutes before spinning them down and removing the serum.
