Cinnamic acid

C6H5CH==CHCOOH; 3-phenylpropenoic acid;obtained from cinnamon oil, peruvian and tolu balsams, or storax. It has been used in lupus as paint and in infectious diseases to promote leukocytosis.

Synonym: cinnamylic acid, phenylacrylic acid.
