Chlorophyll f

Chlorophyll f is just recently discovered in Shark Bay, Western Australia by Chen et al and published in Science 329, (2010)1318-1319. [1]. It absorbs the near-infrared light. Its molecular formula is C55H70O6N4Mg.

Why are leaves green?

Hello, leaves are green because of a compound called chlorophyll. The purpose of cholorphyll is to help plants in photo synthesis which the way plants make food.
