plasmodesm and gap junction

The answer I found is that plant cell walls are not permeable to big proteins (more than 30-60 kDa), so they must be ... walls for protein transportation. So an animal cell necessarily doesn't have gap junction. But I'm not sure. Is it right? Any idea would be appreciated.
