Cardinal ligament

(Science: anatomy) a fibrous band attached to the uterine cervix and the vault of the lateral fornix of the vagina; continuous with the tissue ensheathing the pelvic vessels.

Synonym: cervical ligament of uterus, ligamentum transversale colli, Mackenrodt's ligament.
