Carbon-carbon lyases

(Science: enzyme) enzymes that catalyze the cleavage of a carbon-carbon bond by means other than hydrolysis or oxidation. This subclass contains the decarboxylases, the aldehyde-lyases, and the oxo-acid-lyases.
