(1) A canthoplasty, the surgical division of the upper and lower eyelids through the cantus.

(2) The identification and surgical disinsertion of the crux of the lateral canthal tendon.

Word origin: Greek kanthos (corner of the eye) + Greek lusis (a loosening).
