How will conc. on 2 sides be equal when osmosis stops?

... i have a system which 2 sides are seperated by semipermeable membrane one is filled with NaCl solution and another with pure water. from many text books i've read,the side containing pure water will tend to flow to the another side until CONCENTRATION OF 2 SIDES ARE EQUAL since Nacl cannot move ...
