(Science: zoology) The uncastrated male of swine; specifically, the wild hog.

Origin: oe. Bar, bor, bore, as. Bar; akin to OHG. Pr, MHG. Br, g. Bar, boar (but not bar bear), and perh. Russ. Borov' boar.
