(Science: unit) The Systeme Internationale (si unit, MKS) unit of radioactivity (Bq), named after the discoverer of radioactivity and equal to 1 nuclear transition or disintegration per second. Use is fairly recent, superseding the curie (Ci). 1Ci = 37 GBq
