a thin layer of tissue covered with mesothelial cells that separates the cochlea from the scala tympani in the ear. A membrane in the cochlea that supports the organ of Corti.The tissue in the cochlea of the ear that hosts the auditory hair cells that pick up vibrations caused by sound.
