separation problem with GelRed

... Therefore, its large size may affect DNA migration in prestain gels, leading to some separation problems. Here are some solutions to improve band separation: 1. Reduce the amount of loaded DNA. Overloading of DNA often results in band smearing. The recommended amount for ladders and samples ...

pfge problem H.influenzae

... doing PFGE with Haemophilus influenzae. Also i am using SmaI restriction enzyme, but i get this profile. Not as smear, actually i am counting many bands but as we know we have to find minumum 8 bands. Any idea about band profile ? Is this a good profile? Thank you

Souther blot and restriction mapping

... to draw several lines each with marking the placeswhere the enzymes must cut and space in between X must be Xho obviously as it gives exactly one band of the same size so X + E gives |-------0,7----|-----------1,7----------| X + B gives |------2,3--------------------|---0,1--| B + E gives |-----------2,0---------|------------1,6-------|----0,2------| ...

Souther blot and restriction mapping

... The probe was a 2.4 kb XhoI fragment. Using the southern data, determine the restriction map for genomic DNA. Data: Enzyme Approximate Band Sizes E ------------- 6.0 ----- 1.8 X ------------- 2.4 B ------------ >10 ----- 3.6 XE ------------ 1.7 ----- 0.7 XB ------------ 2.3 ----- ...

Re: An interesting PCR smearing...I dont know what to do :(

... a similar problem. I am using 3 different primers to amplify 3 different exons of a gene . 1 of the exon is amplifying very well ( a single bright band ) but the other two exon amplification is not coming properly.and this has occured recently. ( even though the PCR reaction was standardized earlier ...
