Results from our forumBacteria w/ Antibiotic Treatment... to at least some degree for any Gram negative bacterium, not just Neisseria or intracellular ones. As a result, such infections are treated with bacteriostatic antibiotics instead.

Bacteriostatics... they die, but if this antibiotic is removed prematurely, cells can resume their normal activity as soon as tetracycline is degraded. Hence its bacteriostatic effect.
