I did not say that they are not important. I said they are not necessary for ID. 1. If you take all gram -ve bacilli (and Haemophilus is coccobacilli), you cannot use oxidase and catalase tests to ID them the same way can for staph ID among gram +ve cocci. 2. Your example is ...

... an obligate aerobe because it must have oxygen it will not grow in TSI, triple sugar iron and it will not grow in SCA, simmons citrate agar it is bacilli because it is rod shaped, and the color of it was an offwhite color. please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bacteria in mouth, plaque

So out of cocci, bacilli, and spirilla, which type(s) is/are present in the mouth as part of plaque? Is there a reason for the differences in the amounts present or why some aren't present at all in the mouth?
