Ventilation - Perfusion Coupling

... be efficient, but things get a bit foggy after that. "In alveoli where ventilation is inadequate, PO2 is inadequate. As a result the terminal arterioles constrict and blood is redirected to respiratory areas where PO2 is is high and oxygen pickup may be more efficient." Is that telling ...

please help! understanding resistance: decreasing or increas

... ,so that there would be a pressure gradient to allow the fluid to flow..(because of this reason, i understand why there is a drop in MAP in the arterioles) 2. but i found in the other part, that the arteries vasoconstriction ( which means that the vessels radius is becoming smaller) will elevate ...

SAC thermoregulation

... hot environments. So far I've done a bit of researching and reading on the topic and found little things like: vasoconstriction or vasodilation of arterioles and capillaries. However, does anyone know if there is more that I can do? How can I prepare for this oncoming SAC? What sorts of questions ...

Oxygen levels in glomeruli

... because it is the same amount of O2 in less plasma. This makes sense. However the textbook also says that the pO2 stays virtually the same in both arterioles. This I don't understand as the pO2 depends on the concentration of O2 in the substance and the concentrations do differ. Can someone explain ...
