Origin: L, an eagle.

1. (Science: ornithology) a genus of eagles.

2. (Science: astronomy) a northern constellation southerly from lyra and Cygnus and preceding the Dolphin; the eagle. Aquila alba [L, white eagle], an alchemical name of calomel.
