Supplementary material that is collected and appended at the back of a book.A vestigial process that extends from the lower end of the cecum and that resembles a small pouch.An organ important to herbivores as it is responsible for the breaking down of cellulose which composes the cell wall. Over time, the appendix has become redundant in animals such as humans and are no longer an essential organ in our daily functions.
