Aneurism

(Science: medicine) a soft, pulsating, hollow tumour, containing blood, arising from the preternatural dilation or rupture of the coats of an artery.

Origin: gr, a widening, an opening; up _ wide. A cardiovascular disease characterized by a sac-like widening of an artery resulting from weakening of the artery wall.Pertaining to the arterial walls, which become dilated perhaps due to weakening of the artery wall itself. The dilation can be a result of the force brought about by blood pressure.
