Alcohol

(Science: chemical) An organic chemical containing one or more hydroxyl groups. Alcohols can be liquids, semisolids or solids at room temperature.

Common alcohols include ethanol (the type found in alcoholic beverages) methanol (found in methylated spirit and can cause blindness and other nervous system damage if ingested) and propanol. ... was produced? So peroxidase activity increased when i increased ethanol concentration in my lab. I thought it was suppose to be the opposite since alcohol denatures the enzyme...

Carnoy's fixation problem

Hi everyone, What should be the original concentration of ethanol or methanol used in the preparation of Carnoy's fixative solution? I know it is alcohol: glacial acetic acid( 3:1). But what is the original concentration of the alcohol? Thank you very much :)
