Regarding the rectus abdominis, what is the function of the tendinous inscriptions and linea alba? connective tissue... minor issue - it doesn't have a major impact on day-to-day activities. The main symptoms are diastasis recti, which is stretching of the linea alba (I think) due to pregnancy; clicking knees when climbing stairs that sound awful but aren't painful at all; slight hypermobility of joints.
