Adolescence

Adolescence

The state of growing up from childhood to manhood or womanhood; youth, or the period of life between puberty and maturity, generally considered to be, in the male sex, from fourteen to twenty-one. Sometimes used with reference to the lower animals.

Origin: fr, fr. L. Adolescentia. The time period between the beginning of puberty and adulthood.In the state that someone is in between puberty and adulthood.The stage of life in humans where hormonal changes dramatically change the physiology of a growing child into a mature adult.

Stomach bloating and weight gain

... i also have gas plus my periods are late and are short. I have started noticing zits whereas I never had any even when I was entering adolescence. I have had history of ovrian cysts and had a suegery some 2 years back for a dermoid cyst on my right ovary. Help please.

Endocrine glands

... pituitary gland secretes GH (Growing Hormone) for the whole life of a person, which includes the childhood. Even though we don't grow taller after adolescence, this gland still secretes GH into the blood stream. So I guess the answer is the pituitary gland. :D
