In America, the term is commonly applied to several harmless snakes, as the milk adder, puffing adder, etc. same as sea adder. in the sculptures the appellation is given to several venomous serpents, sometimes to the horned viper (Cerastles). The Most Venomous Snake In The World... and is probably the 2nd most venomous in the world. One snake I would advise anyone including experts not to pick up or tail in the Death Adder as it is one of the fastest striking snakes in the world and due to its size is very hard to tail.
