Really a great review text on the parasitic diseases. It devotes the standard visuals on what the organisms look like on special stains/microscopy which you would expect from a book authored by a pathologist. But it also features a healthy amount of pictures of clinical presentations, and up to date textual information. Clearly this is a work of friendly collaboration and shared academic enthusiasm.
The visuals and text make for better information recall and storage. I also have the Mandell book, considered the infectious disease bible by most among my peers, but I prefer to read a book like parasitic disorders on the train. First of all it's more portable than Mandell. Second, because reading it is almost like doing infectious disease rounds in a tropical country. I.E. fun.
