It starts with a look at the metabolic and nutritional needs of the human body, relevent to anyone, and a great place to start, whereas many other books like, Lehninger, start out with chemical theory. This makes Marks much more relevent to the medical student and much more interesting. I recommend this book for your library and practical use. Use Lehninger to keep the door open, and read Marks to feed your brain.
