xiphodon

(Science: paleontology) An extinct genus of artiodactylous mammals found in the European tertiary formations. It had slender legs, didactylous feet, and small canine teeth.

Origin: Gr. Xifos a sword _ 'odoys, 'odontos, a tooth.
