(1) An abnormal connection (or passageway) between urinary bladder and [[colon].

(2) A form of vesicointestinal fistula located between the urinary bladder and large intestine.

Normally the urinary system is not connected to the alimentary canal. However, certain conditions may result in a fistula between them, in this case, between colon and the urinary bladder. It may arise from the incomplete separation between these two systems during embryonic development or it may be due to infections or postoperative complications.

Word origin: Latin, pipe, tube, fistula.

Synonym: colovesical fistula. .
