Systemic candidiasis

An infection by Candida species (especially Candida albicans) that spreads throughout the body such as the heart, kidneys, brain, liver, and genital tracts.


This kind of Candida infection is life-threatening as it can result to sepsis. It is associated with people having neutropenia and compromised immune system.
