Sudeck's atrophy

atrophy of bones, commonly of the carpal or tarsal bones, following a slight injury such as a sprain.

See: causalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy.

Synonym: acute reflex bone atrophy, posttraumatic osteoporosis, sudeck's syndrome.
