p-aminosalicylic acid

(Science: chemical) 4-amino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid. An antitubercular agent often administered in association with isoniazid. The sodium salt of the drug is better tolerated than the free acid.

Pharmacological action: antitubercular agents.
