Neutralizing antibody

An antibody that is capable of keeping an infectious agent, usually a virus, from infecting a cell by neutralizing or inhibiting its biological effect, for example by blocking the receptors on the cell or the virus.


This antibody may be produced by monocloning or vaccination.
