Flog

to beat or strike with a rod or whip; to whip; to lash; to chastise with repeated blows.

Origin: cf. Scot. Fleg blow, stroke, kick, as. Flocan to strike, or perh. Fr. L. Flagellare to whip. Cf. Flagellate.
