A leukocyte readily stained with eosin.eosinophil

polymorphonuclear leucocyte (granulocyte) of the myeloid series, of which the granules stain red with eosin. Phagocytic, particularly associated with helminth infections and with hypersensitivity. A type of [[leucocyte, that is believed to be specially adapted to deal with allergies as an immune response.
