The external acoustic meatus, running from the auricle to the tympanic membrane.


The human ear canal extends from the pinna to the eardrum and is about 26 mm in length and 7 mm in diameter. It consists of the cartilaginous and the bony parts.

Synonym: meatus acusticus externus, external acoustic meatus, antrum auris, auditory canal.
