Of, relating to or denoting to an integer that is not an exact divisor of a number or quantity, thus always resulting in a remainder, e.g. an aliquant part of 8 is 3.


An aliquant part; a number which divides a quantity into parts, but leaves a remainder.


Word origin: Latin aliquantus more or less great, equiv. to ali- differently + quantus great
