Acuity

(Science: ophthalmology) The clarity or clearness, especially of the vision or hearing.

Origin: L. Acuitas = sharpness sharpness of vision; the visual ability to resolve fine detail (usually measured by a snellen chart).A quick and penetrating intelligence; he argued with great acuteness; I admired the keenness of his mind.Pertaining to the focus of the eye, acuity is the measurement of sharpness that the eye can focus with.
