A test on a 24-hr urine specimen in order to measure the catecholamine metabolite, 3-methoxy-4-hydroxymandelic acid (vanillylmandelic acid)


3-methoxy-4-hydroxymandelic acid levels in urine are determined to assess the presence of tumors, e.g. pheochromocytoma and neuroblastoma.
