Human population control
Population control of apex predators ex. human. Most apex predators control their populations by fighting other troupes or prides, or by a male killing any offspring that are not his own or by only allowing the alpha female of a troupe to breed. In the past humans have had similar checks but at the moment the only viable checks to overpopulation are starvation or disease. This is an anomaly in global ecology. All other species (OK perhaps not rats, but this is because they live so close to man, and have a constant food source) have a working mechanism in place. We used to have (even in Victorian times servants were discouraged from reproducing) working mechanisms in the past, very similar to those of other apex predators, but they have disappeared. Can anyone think of a check more humane than starvation or disease that might be acceptable for use today?
WE don't know why they do it. The current explanation is that they want more of their own genes rather than someone else's to carry on to the next generation. Perhaps we give them that motivation because it is our own motivation for war. (the genes of the tribe rather than the individual) But there is no reason why animals cannot see 'the bigger picture' even more easily than we can. They live closer to reality than we do.

Ooh Jack! What precisely suggests that animals don't plan for their futures? I think most of the evidence suggests that they do. There is in fact far more evidence of 'animal planning' than of any long term human planning! Do you need examples?

haven't they had a plan in China since the 70s?
Evolution is the fundamental idea in all of life science - in all of biology.
Re: Human population control
Here are two human population-control methods that are already in operation:
- Feminism: Get young women doing anything as long as it isn't having babies - or at least, as few babies as possible.
And let's not forget abortion, a feminist "sacred cow". It has been estimated that about 1.5 billion abortions have been performed world-wide since 1980.
Not surprisingly, all nations that have embraced feminism now have below-replacement birth-rates - extinction won't happen overnight, but it will happen.
- The myth of anthropological global warming: More offspring means more pollution and more demands on the environment. The message is: In order to "save the planet", don't have kids.
Who is behind this conspiracy to reduce human reproduction?

It is funny you mention this here. I know quite a few men who have sworn off serious relationships with women because they act this way. They want to sleep around, talk down to men, blame men, and expect us to accept them and want to marry them? This has population control agenda all over it if you ask me. Making men not want women... hats off to the people who have this one going.
