two different color eyesModerator: BioTeam Re: two different color eyesI have two different eye colors as well... It seems from reading all the other replies that the common colors are blue and green. Mine are mostly blue and brown, but they change frequently. My brown one is constantly changing to green, and my blue one to a very light grey. I have never seen any one else with two different colored eyes, much less ones that change. Is this natural or am I just extremely different?
Re: two different color eyesthis is probably wrong but...
i was told different features in the body are the result of a reaction being catalysed by an enzyme and different enzymes are denatured at different temperatures. some people have brains that are stronger on one side or the other and this effects the amount of activty that goes on in each side, and that the amount of activty going on relates to its tempertaure. so an enzyme on one side of the head may be denatured/not work as well due to a high/low temperture and so the other enzyme for the other pigment catalyses the reaction, giving the recessive colour. but on the other side of the head it can catalyse a reaction and so the dominant eye colour is produced.
no offense, but that sounds like a stupid hypothesis...

Re: two different color eyesmy eye color is from my father's side and they are from Sweden. My father's sister has two kids with blue and brown and one with blue with a brown spot.
Re: two different color eyesHi there I have 2 different coloured eyes, the left if blue and the right is green. I have had it all my life.
Most people don’t notice, until you up close, and it seems if I get a little frustrated or upset the left turns brighter blue, or so I’m told. It really has not bothered me and people often say how strange but unique it is, I reply with will "I could say the same about you" as I don’t know what its like to have the same coloured eyes. It’s a talking point and I must say not one person has thought it freaky. And the girls seemed to love it when I was a kid. Didn’t do me any harm at all. Look at it this way we are few, unique, and people pay a fortune with contacts these days to achieve the same result we were born with. The down side if there is one is that my left eye is far weaker then my right always has been. Cheers
Re: two different color eyesRight green eye & left brown eye with a sliver of gold here ~ I was about 1 years old when my eye colors changed and it's been 23 of living with this special trait. My mom's sister has a dark brown eye and light blue eye, as well. I wonder if my niece will have this beautiful trait. Life is truly ironic. My mom use to make fun of her younger sister, calling her a "freak". Then years later, I was born and BAM! My mom produced a dark haired "freak" of her own. I went from being an awkward girl, to a young woman, who now embraces (almost) all aspects of herself and life. PEOPLE GET JEALOUS WHEN THEY SEE SOMETHING SO UNIQUE AND RARE. IT'S TYPICAL FOR MANY TO REACT IN A DEFENSIVE MANNER; WE KNOW BETTER, BECAUSE WE'RE ON OUR TOES. I wonder; will my niece possess this incredible trait?
Re: two different color eyesI HAVE ATTACHED A PIC OF MY SONS EYES. ONLY ONE EYE IS MULTI COLORED (HALF BLUE AND HALF BROWN). I HAVE BLUE EYES AS WELL AS MOST IN MY SIDE OF FAMILY AND DAD HAS BROWN. WE KNOW OF NO ONE IN EITHER SIDE OF FAMILY WITH THIS. CANT EVEN GO TO GROCERY STORE WITHOUT PEOPLE STOPPING TO SEE.
Re: two different color eyesHi. My 20 month old son has one brown eye and one blue eye. He was also born with dark hair except for a spot on the top back of his head that was white. His hair has lightened up a lot but the white spot is still there. I am wondering if any of you with two different color eyes also have a spot of hair that is different? I have read about Waardenburg syndrome and he does not have it. Thanks
Re: two different color eyesMy roomate has two different colored eyes, she says that her grandma is the only other person that she knows has it in her family. One is Blue and the other is half blue and half brown. I think it is very cool. She thinks its unique and special because its something she shares with her grandmother. But sometimes she has trouble wearing makeup because when she puts eye shadow or eyeliner one is always emphasized more then the other. People don't usually notice, you can see it only if she is wearing makeup or if you look up close.
Re: two different color eyesi have 2 different color eyes too.. right one is blue and left one is green. not very easy to notice, my mom has honey colored eyes and my dad blue so its not from them lol but i love it !! and i lovee when ppl ask me what color eyes i have just so i can say theyre 2 different colors.my boyfriend loves them too lol. i never got made fun of when i was little except for one time i had to draw a picture of myself and i colored in my eyes and one bright blue and one bright green and one girl laughed at me.. but its weird bc not only are they different.. they change all the time with what im wearing.. one day they can both be blue. one day they can be green. but my favorite is when they look lavendar. does anyone know if its possible to pass it down to our children? i'd love that !
