Member Chat ThreadModerator: BioTeam It doesn't have to be an important person at all, just a person.
I was going to look at some Grotesques to see if I could just gather different facial features but I figure that would be way too much work on my part. Einstein would actually be fairly interesting. And Alex, when you take over the world I'll sculpt a personalized statue for you, deal? lol J o n e s i e

Sounds great!

Anyway... How is everyone doing? I am personally wonderful. The temperature tonight is 40 for once in like AGES. It hasn't even been that warm outside during the day for the past 4 months. J o n e s i e

Jones, you sculpt for your art class right? I feel that you must be enjoying your studies right now. Well for the face of that angry looking criminal that I think would be very unusual one and It seems that you have found a good subject for your sculpture. Some might have not thought of it.
You said that the temperature their is 40, wow that's really warm. You mean that the temperature in your place would go as high as 40? Luckily, we have scattered rainshowers here. And it's really nice and comfy for the kind of temperature we have right now. But this coming March and April would be scorching ones definitely. ---When reason ends, faith begins---
Well I like drawing more than anything, but I was given the choice to sculpt and I had done well the last time I did it so I decided I would try it again.
I'm really excited to start. I'll take pictures and show you all at some point. Or at least when I'm finished. 40 is warm to you? Do you mean Celsius because I mean Farenhiet (sp?) And that's pretty cold. J o n e s i e

Re:
I must admit that I had a very similar reaction until I checked that Jones live in the US. So the temperature is likely to be 40ºF and not 40ºC, or just above freezing... This is the place where I want to complain about the use of the imperial sytem of measure in the US, but since celsius are no better than farenheit when it comes to logic, and very little people actually use Kelvins in everyday life, including me, I will shut up. Haha, yeah I was confused when mcar said it was nice out, I though I was anemic.
I don't see why it matters how we measure temperature... Any reason? J o n e s i e

Oh I'm sorry I haven't thought of it very well. Actually by the time I am writing my post, I am thinking if I will ask Celsius or Fahrenheit and 40 C was in my mind. Surely that 40 F is really cold. ---When reason ends, faith begins---
lol Yeah, that's what I thought, the foreign exchange student that's living with us uses Celcius as well, and so it kind of mixes me up with temperatures when he's trying to explain how hot it gets where he lives.

I do wish the US would adopt the metric system. We're way overdue for that.

I like it the way it is.
Now that I've learned it my whole life I'd rather it not change. I'm not all that good with the metric system. Everyone keeps saying it's easier but, yeah... No. J o n e s i e

Yep but:
- how many gallons of water does my 2"3"1/2 x1'6"x1" fish tank contains? - if I measure that a snail moved 3' in half an hour what is its speed in mph? - my reaction works best at 173K, how much is that in Fahrenheit? and many other... although I get used to this system because it is widely used in Canada, it is such a pain when you need to make any calculation and/or change of scales. That is the real advantage of the metric system. In the absence of a common base between scales (inches divided in 1/8, 12" in a foot) it is highly difficult to make quickly and easily calculations with anything else than round numbers. Patrick
