Question About Higher Biology (Scotland)..Hi there! I have just finished my fourth year of High School in Scotland (Basically, my Standard Grades). I'm 15 years old and have decided that Biology is definetely my strong point in school. At one point I actually thought about leaving and doing College Higher in three Biology Subjects: Higher Biology, Higher BioTechnology and Higher Human Biology. However, I was persuaded out of the idea (Which, I think was for my own good) as these three Qualifications wouldn't be seen as the same Qualification because they overlap each other.
Anyway, I was wanting to know if anyone knows about the Higher Biology course. What to expect, kind of. I know I am definetely going to take it and I know I will enjoy it- however I was just wanting to know what the course mainly involves, and is there a lot of Chemistry skills needed for the course? My weak point is Chemistry and I feel it may bring me down later in life, when choosing a career. My ambition is to go to University to do a 4-year Degree in: "Biology, Micro-Biology and Zoology" which I think will be so interesting. I originally wanted to do Zoology but decided a more varied subject would do me better later in life. Here's me ranting on! Lol.. Thanks if someone can let me know what the Scottish Higher Biology Course involves. Thank you. I have no ideea what that course involves as i have never even been to scotland but, even if i do not know what is considered "advanced" in your country i am almost sure that it requires chmemistry. If you want to do somthing in biology then i suggest you start brushing up on your chemistry, mostly organic chemistry

Okay, thanks a lot, MrMistery. I knew that at one point my knowledge of Chemistry would bring me down so maybe I should do some sort of Access course in Chemistry which I could brush up on. I'm not sure..

or you could come to the Netherlands and apply for university there...

I did Higher biology last year, and I loved it! ! ! ! I am currently doing Advanced higher and I'm loving it even more. In Higher you get a lot more detail of things you learnt in standard grade and you feel like you are learning real Biology, not the dumbed down stuff but you have to make sure you know your stuff if you are hoping for an A, good luck and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
