New Forum ChangesModerator: BioTeam New Forum ChangesSo, we have a new forum obviously. 2 notable changes
1. More mod powers! 2. ???? 3. User avatars now active! 4. Profit. I think that's about it. I was told that more stuff would come/tweaked. Living one day at a time;

Re: New Forum ChangesSo how do we get in on this profit deal? *rubs hands together*
What did the parasitic Candiru fish say when it finally found a host? - - "Urethra!!"
Re: New Forum ChangesMay be more sober. Like Science or Nature. Now looks fresh...too much. Smiles in a scientific forum is not my idea of scientific debate. This aspect may be rejected by serius people.

Re: New Forum Changes
Why is that? Scientific can be light hearted and have a sense of humor too.... And serious discussions and ideas can be exchanged without making sad faces. That is why the busiest and richest area of many labs I have been in is the coffe corner. You discuss ideas in confidence, even the wildest and later in the lab, you see what can be tested, seriously. And this is not Science or Nature either. And the serious discussions are usually carried without smilies. Patrick

Re: New Forum ChangesYou are correct, i know this is not an scientific journal. Belive it or not: exist people that prefer to be serius. Maybe is irrelevant if are more "productive" or not, i did not say "succesfull people".And i respectifully understand your conviction.
Please, all the users have the rigth to use or not "smiles", i know that too. So de Admin make an smart choice, but personally: i do not like "smiles". So, do not consider my comment as my bad imitation of "Torquemada". I am student of medicine but i am graphic designer too and my observations may be related to the family font, menu and the lemon color . Biology online, in my opinion is a great place to be. A. Re: New Forum ChangesI like the new look but is it still possible to sort the member list according to total posts and check how close I am to the top? Also, I miss the "mark all forums read" button.
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

Re: New Forum ChangesThe "Mark forums read" link is still there, its on the index page below the log out button alex.
The new look of this forum is great by the way. Why can't this be left blank?
Re: New Forum Changesoh, a new feature is the fact that posts in the off-topic sections are not counted anymore in the total post count of each user. This feature was implemented so that the total post count can be used (at least very vaguely) as an indicator of how useful that person is on the forum

Re: New Forum Changes
Weak. That could deep-six my plan to have the highest post count on the forum. Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.
