Acid precipitation of proteins for lipid peroxidation assayModerator: BioTeam

Acid precipitation of proteins for lipid peroxidation assayI noticed that different researchers use different acids (TCA, perchloric acid, etc.). Do these different acids make a difference? Could these acids also precipitate some other things (non-protein staff)? Could perchloric acid oxidize additional lipids during the assay and so make the assay unreliable? Sorry for my poor background in macromolecular chemistry. Thanks.
