U6, H1

Hi..
Im just starting off as an undergrad student, so some of these questions may sound silly....

i wanted to know what exactly the U6 and H1 promoters are, and where are they found ??

All the papers thgat i come across, have technical info regarding this, and i feel as if my basics are not strong enough.

U6 is an RNA intimately involved in mRNA splicing. It's promoter is sometimes used in vitro to transcibe RNAs for EMSAs or to make northern blot probes. I've never come across H1 in my research.
