Debate and discussion of any biological questions not pertaining to a particular topic.
There are other forums on the internet that have 'homework question' forums only the key is directing students to the right answer, like suggesting to look up the article by Watson and Crick on http://www.pubmed.com and look up the book on http://www.amazon.com.

Some universities actually go through forums such as this one and if they find their students asking homework questions they actually fail them. I had some friends that had trouble with an assignemt and they asked for help on a forum and ended up failing the course. Pretty said, huh?
"Take four red capsules, in ten minutes take two more. Help is on the way."

That IS sad. To most of us here, biology is the easiest thing in the world. But to many, it is possibly more difficult than swimming to the moon. I always say that if a student makes a truly good-faithed attempt, he or she is more than entitled to ask for help.
The first few months of this forum's existance, that's all I DID here ((saying "I" here because this was back when I was the only mod)). The way I see it, I encourage people to ask for help with their homework...provided the students make a good-faith attempt at doing it themselves before turning to us.
