Dislike fighting? What's to dislike about fighting?
Generally speaking, the more people talk about "being saved," the further away they actually are from true salvation.

Violence should only be a last resort but there are times when it is the only answer. If it wasn't for violence, Hitler would've taken over the world.

No, without violence Hitler wouldn't taken over the world because how he would have taken over the world was with force and VIOLENCE.

Non-violence is only effective if everyone is non-violent. Same can be said for kantian ethics.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

I was just saying I don't like violence and you make a big deal about it. Why?

I believe that violence should only be a last resort like you and in protecting my country. My dad is ex-military. But the world would be a better place without it. Hey, without violence we might still be controlled by England.

You're right; the world would be a better place without it. But the sad fact is that some people are violent, and sometimes the only way to counter that is to fight fire with fire.

I am an ex-Marine, for example, and I saw combat in Afghanistan. My fellow Marines and I fought and killed terrorists that were not above killing innocent children simply because they thought it would get them into heaven. You can't reason with people like that.

That's cool. I don't think I really want to be part of the military when I get older. I used to when I was about 7 but now that I'm 13 I don't really want to. I am more geared toward writing and animals.

I wasn't planning on entering the military either, but the attack on the World Trade Center changed my mind. I figured if there's people out there who want to kill me just because of my religion or my nationality, then I'm at least going to get a good shot at them first, and I thought that maybe in the process I could keep my loved ones safe.

That makes a lot of sense. That would've made me want to go in the military after I go to college.
